Sacramental Preparation, Grades 6-12

The sacramental preparation process at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary is committed to grounding our youth in knowledge of our Catholic faith, modeling for them various ways of living our beliefs, and providing opportunities for our teens to grow deeper in their relationship with God.
In the Sacrament of Confirmation the youth will be sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit empowering them to continue to live their faith and share it with others.  Confirmation also publicly affirms the candidates are actively living our faith in accordance with the teachings of Christ and His Church.  Therefore, formal preparation is imperative so that those confirmed may publicly profess their beliefs and be truly ready to receive this holy, sacred Sacrament of Initiation.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith.  In the Eucharist we receive the very Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  God's loving grace comes to us through the reception of this sacrament.  When we receive Eucharist we enter into an intimate encounter with Christ in which we sacramentally receive Him into our bodies so that we may be more completely assimilated into His.
